This new Bollywood film has broken all records!
How do you get people in such large numbers to see a movie? I am talking about the new Bollywood i.e. Hindi movie “Ghajini.” It was released on Christmas day about 10 days ago and has grossed more than 170 crores ! This film has recorded the highest sales in the history of box office in Indian cinema, much higher than any film till date. What is so great about this one? First, it has in it the current hot selling hero of Hindi pictures Bollywood “Amir Khan. ” When you go to see the effort this lovable bloke has put into this film ( he is also the producer) you will agree he deserves the success. Those stills on every public wall will show you a very angry man showing his famous biceps and triceps raring to take revenge on those who did harm to him. We hear Amir was training for hours daily on those weights and machines to get into shape. And the heroine is newcomer Asin ( she has acted in the tamil version under the same name Ghajini). She is fresh and brings to the film an innocence that only Dimple Kapadia did years ago in “Bobby.” But the highlight of the film must be the music given by that very talented man from South India - A.R. Rehman. The stereo background can beat any from any blockbuster Hollywood movie. Mr. Rehman uses all the tricks in recording music that leaves one wonder “How the hell does he do it? Director Muragadass is very talented though I must add he directed the same movie before in Tamil. Action films have come back again on Bollywood screen and that’s a good sign.
Talking of Bollywood, I must also talk a little about another current hot Bollywood heroine “Katrina Kaif.” Boy, is she hot! She is not only hot but also damn good looking. Hold your breath, she charges not less than a few crores for just one ad film. She has appeared recently in 4 films for which she was paid not less than 3 crores per film. The producers and directors and everyone else are lining outside her house to sign her up. In a time of world recession these people are doing pretty well for themselves.
