I will catch Bin Laden dead or alive before I leave office!
These were President Bush’s words when he had to face 9/11 soon after he took office. So much has happened after he said this. Bin Laden is on the run, Saddam Hussein is gone and terror attacks have thrived in Mumbai and elsewhere. As a last attempt to catch Bin Laden, American forces have launched one final assault in Afghanistan and the border surrounding Pakistan to catch or kill Bin Laden after he sent his latest audio tape to wipe out the world. Hundreds of missles have landed on the dusty fields of Afghanistan and closeby causing great casualities. Hundreds of people have died. But Bin Laden was seen to have escaped just by a whisker. Two of his closest associates and bodyguards have died. It is rumored that Bin Laden will now flee to interior from the Pakistani border to Afghanistan or India. Alert has already been sounded in both India and Pakistan. Bush has still a few hours to go before he can achieve his ambition. Maybe Obama will have to finish what Bush began. We wish him luck.
What is the tradition of all American president elects to take the train to Washington from Philadelphia before taking office? It seems Lincoln took the same train route and so did every president from then on. It speaks volumes of the world’s finest democracy working at its best. Hello Mr. President!
