Election fever has begun in India

Published by sincerewriter at 4:20 am under Current events Edit This

Elections in India will most likely be held from the 10th April this year. And both the national parties, the Congress and the Hindu Nationalist Party (BJP) have started their mud slinging at each other. Sonia Gandhi, the Congress party President, has started her whirlwind tour of India, shouting from every roof top her govt’s achievements. Everywhere she goes around she harps on how well they have tackled the issue of terrorism. The BJP on the other hand has resorted to the old slogan of building the Hindu Ram temple at Ayodhya. Congress is saying it is secular and the BJP is calling it pseudosecular. The problem is they are poloarising the voters to the extent that it will again be a fractured verdict with no party getting a clear majority to form the govt on its own. Whatever it is and whoever wins, lets pray that the party that forms the govt gets more seats to rule on its own. We are tired of horse trading and filibusters all along the parliament debate routes.

Want to know the secret to instant fame and money? Make a movie on the slums in Mumbai! “Slumdog Millionaire” is getting more and more of world attention ( It won the BAFTA awards as well). Why should people go gaga over the slums in Mumbai? Did you notice the film was a damp squib in the Indian theaters? Even the music of that genius A.R. Rehaman is not so great as his work in Ghajini and Dostana. I am seriously thinking of writing a script with the Mumbai slums as backdrop ( it should be easy to write). Then I could ask a mediocre British director like Danny Boyle to make the film, and put in a few rhytymic songs by Rehaman and you know what? I have a winner. Could retire in a year.
