What exactly is the problem with the Indian IT giant Satyam Computers?

Published by sincerewriter under money Edit This

He stunned everybody in and out when Chairman Ramalinga Raju left everything in a huff saying that he had committed financial irregularities to the tone of 7000 crores. Following this there was a huge uproar everywhere in the world. People want the heads of the famous auditors Price Waterhouse. But it is worrying, is Satyam reall sick? They say the company has receivables to the staggering number of 1700 crores. What then is the problem? My own assessment is that Chairman got bored with the parent company and has siphoned funds from Satyam to his son’s company Maytas. He knew for sure that the govt would save the parent company to keep up investor confidence and the jobs of the 53000 employees. Very clever. Maytas is doing great with big metro rail projects. Thats where more money was to be got. So he made the switch and the scam. But why is everyone cribbing? Raju started Satyam with 20 employees in 1987 to become the giant today. He has dished out  millions of dollars for investors over the years.

And finally, want a job? Attend the great job fair going on at Boston. People are hiring left right and center.

Want to make money in the stock market?

Published by sincerewriter under money Edit This

We had an interesting encounter yesterday, me and the wife. Our neighbor had invited a fellow who specialized in interpreting signs and moles on the body. He asked me to open my palm outwards when it was my turn to know about me. Soon he got excited and said ” Have you won any lottery?” When I sad no, he said ” Have you made any big money on the stock market?” When I said no again, he was truly disappointed ” You just don’t know what you are missing. Take a look, your ring finger is much longer than your index finger. It means that you have great confidence in dealing in stocks and shares. What you buy will rise no doubt.” I said I wll keep this in mind. Maybe I too could make a little money. Then he went on to tell about moles in different parts of the body. When he asked me if I had moles anywhere, I told him I had one clearly on my ( you know where), he was thrilled. “Man, you really are lucky. Is this your first marriage? Do you have women outside of marriage?” When I told I had plenty of women chasing me though I did not succumb to the temptation, he looked sad. Talk about chastity and God’s word about one man, one woman!
Saw something else interesting on tv - it seems one man got totally cured of his alchohol problem by taking a big dose of Beclofan. Anyone wanting to try?

Have you tried these money saving tips for your family budget?

Published by sincerewriter under money Edit This

If you are in charge of creating the family budget, chances are, you’ve had the unfortunate experience of having a brilliant budget plan that isn’t executed well. This happens to many families and couples, and with a little attitude tweaking, you can solicit the help of your family in making your budget work.

Create a family budget vision. Talk to your spouse and children about whatever budgetary constraints you are facing, or whatever financial goals you intend to set. By being completely honest about the bills and loans you have to pay, or your intention to save a certain amount of money for a family emergency fund (or a college fund, for that matter), you can help your family understand better your collective financial situation. This will allow them to change their perspective on purchases they make, and will help you make sure that whatever money crunching strategies you utilize won’t be counteracted by a subsequent spree by your teen.

Another good technique is to create a list of usual expenditures per member of your family. Together, identify which items you can do away with in order to save up some extra money from your monthly income. By doing this altogether, you are making your family participate better and see the contributions they can make into making your family’s finances better.

Should your child have the habit of continuously asking for money for minor and oftentimes unnecessary purchases, you can let your children learn to manage their own week’s allowance. With their limited money to budget, they will realize the value of money.

Put a cap on the amount of expenditures you make in a week. The best way to do this is set aside a fixed amount of cash that you will spend for a week. By putting this limitation on your spending, you are forced to prioritize spending on the most essential over other things.

Make it easy for your family to save more. How often do you eat out? Most family budgets are blown over because of the frequency of dining out and the accompanying exorbitant expense of that activity. Eating at home will reduce your expenses, not to mention allow for your family to bond over cooking at home. Do you spend on routine purchases like coffee and newspapers? Cut back on the latte and the paper, and put aside the amount you would otherwise spend. Your family’s collective saving will surprise you.

Lastly, don’t be afraid to create a most efficient driving route, as well as grouping together activities into one car trip. This way, you can save a lot on time and even on gasoline and car expenses.
